It’s real. The last time I was in SF, I stayed in Mission/Tenderloin at a boutique hotel. Walking to the exposition, I walked in the middle of the street because the cars were less threatening than the bums and shit.
This is all a popcorn fest for me. Keep it up Cali!
I didn’t go to the Tenderloin for a reason, but I was on parts of Mission and none of that.
Maybe we could get China to nuke it on our behalf. We’ll throw in DC to sweeten the deal.
I generally eschew the Tenderloin and the Castro. But I was in the tenderloin about 6 or 7 years ago, it doesn't feel dangerous like an East Coast city.
A friend of mine had an uncle who owned a restaurant in Nob Hill and we used to walk up there to have dinner. I thought it was a beautiful neighborhood... steep hills and lots of Victorian townhomes. This is truly a shame.
It’s remarkable there hasn’t been a cholera outbreak in Sodomcisco. They wouldn’t have tolerated this $hit in the late 19th century.

San Fransisco
The streets were washed clean by the rainstorms in Feb.
I was there a few years ago on a business trip. It was disgusting. We parked at a garage by Fishermen’s wharf and the garage was filled with feces. Outside in the allies was full of feces. The only clean spots were at the tourist spots. It was gross and the smell like a Honey Bucket at an August chili cookoff.
When do the San Francisco plagues start?

Downtown is bleak. The empty parts are actually worse than than the parts with zombies.

Gavin was Mayor. This is in his aunt Nancy’s district.
Newsom told folks, it would take a decade, but he’d get the
homeless problem under control. (When mayor, I believe it was)
Well...
Guess not!
Each of us used to bring 4-5 large garbage/leaf bags to every Dead show. After the show most people would clean up their area, and we used the extra bags for the jerks who did not.
There was a quote from a sheriff in Tennessee or Arkansas. The Dead had played for a few days, and the local sheriff was quite worried about all the hippies coming to town. After all the shows were done, the sheriff did a complete 180. He stated that the town was cleaner than before the Dead showed up. He invited them back any time.
In the business section it is disgusting. Pup tents everywhere on the sidewalks next to very high priced commercial real estate. People come out of the pup tents on the sidewalk and pull down their pants and just “go”.
It is but slightly different in their are more crazy people who can harm you. Know the city well, it’s not safe now.
My son and I went to a San Fran Giants baseball game last month. We had lunch at Marlowe restaurant before the game. We walked approx ten city blocks and found a few drugged-out bums and poop on one street. Graffiti was about as bad as it always is in that part of town. The number of vacant stores was about the same as it has always been. The GS Warriors playoff game was going on at the same time, so the streets were full of baseball and basketball fans. All in all, it felt somewhat normal.
The last time I was in the ballpark neighborhood was probably seven to ten years ago. I was blown away by all the new construction in the China Basin district. All the old and once-plentiful parking lots are now condo buildings.
