Desantis is assuming Trump will not be allowed by RNC to be nominee.
If I were advising him and that is the strategy, I would suggest to downplay the differences with Trump. Those Trump voters need to show up and vote in the general election. If you alienate them, they might just stay home, particularly if Brandon doesn't run and the Democrats substitute a better candidate.
