Gov. Kathy Hochul refused to confirm whether the state is backing Mayor Eric Adams’ push to rescind New York City’s right to shelter rule on Wednesday, as she also dodged questions about SUNY campuses and went back on her previous work papers stance.

During a brief press conference following her appearance at the MTA Headquarters in Lower Manhattan, Hochul said Adams’ move to suspend the city’s “right to shelter” rule in the wake of a deluge of migrant arrivals involved “very complicated legal issues.”

“We’ll see how it unfolds in the courts,” she stated, while noting that her team was “looking at all…assets to help ameliorate the [migrant] problem that is at a crisis level in the City of New York.”

There’s really nothing complicated about “Put up or shut up.” Except maybe the shutting up part.

1981 decision that established the right to shelter
Doesn't specify what that has to be.

The arrangement below can "shelter" at least 2, probably jam in 10 in a pinch.

They're the ones that creates the crisis lol

They're trying to do with crisis the way they liberal word salad everything. Especially guns.

Crisis is not a person, place or thing unless you're a democrat.

The Federal government is tasked by the constitution to protect the states against invasion. Yet no one can stop them from being part of that invasion. That is how corrupt the justice system is.

There’s plenty of empty, closed prisons in NY State that Cuomo and Hochul closed. What better place to house illegals when they broke the law just by coming here. Most of them have dormitory setting living space, not cells. Just give the inmates the keys, and let them kill each other.

Any "right to shelter" would only be temporary for anyone who has no right to be there.

Their rights do not extend beyond camps with tents or prison cells, and bare necessities before being deported.
