Chief Washington Examiner political correspondent Byron York charted a hypothetical path to the Republican nomination for newly announced 2024 presidential candidate Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC).
"This is the kind of candidacy that's not just going to burst on the polls and all of a sudden he’ll be in second place next week," York said Monday on Fox News. "It’s the kind of candidacy that you visit Iowa a lot, and good news, good word starts spreading around you.
"They say good things about you and, after a while, you just start rising in the most important first contest," he continued.

Tim McRombush wins South Carolina (or Nikki McRomBush)
Chris McRomBush wins New Hampshire (Sununu or Christie)
Ron DeSantis wins Florida (politically, Ron is not a McRomBush, but he's got them all around him)
But it's not gonna work. We have our candidate. Trump will be the nominee, no matter what games they play.
Must have been a very slow news day at the Examiner if Byron York is charting out, with a straight face, a possible victory path for Tim Scott.
I’d like to think ol’ Tim is simply angling for a spot in Trump’s second administration.
And I hope Trump tells him no. Like the rest of the field he he just screams GOPe.
Seems like Trump loathing to me.
It’s called a Primary. Happens just about every four years.

Only way is if Trump or DeSantis stroke out, not even sure that would be enough considering the state of political operators today.

To sell it, his (Fox News supported) article says he’s not the kind of candidate that does good right away.

Of course, but I think they all know it. Right now they’re instead praying that some podunk prosecutor figures out a way to put Trump in jail.
...but even in jail, as far as I can tell, he still meets the Constitutional requirements to run for President and take the office - only impeachment can remove him.
Just listen to him on Fox News or read his ramblings in the Examiner. He seems elitist to me - not terribly bright but makes it sound like he is.
