NAACP issues travel advisory for Florida, saying the state is 'openly hostile toward African Americans' under Gov. DeSantis' administration

MIAMI -- Another advocacy group is warning people of color about traveling to Florida – but for different reasons.

The NAACP issued a travel advisory for the state "in direct response to Governor Ron DeSantis' aggressive attempts to erase Black history and to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in Florida schools," the group said in a written statement Saturday.

The announcement came days after LULAC – the League of United Latin American Citizens – issued a travel advisory for Florida after DeSantis signed a new immigration law that will go into effect in July.

Both LULAC and the NAACP say actions under the DeSantis administration are "hostile" to their communities.

"Florida is openly hostile toward African Americans, people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals," the NAACP said. "Before traveling to Florida, please understand that the state of Florida devalues and marginalizes the contributions of, and the challenges faced by African Americans and other communities of color."

Don’t go to Florida b/c they won’t take orders from the Marxist grievance industry.

NAACP is based in Baltimore and LULAC in Washington DC both much more favorable to them than Florida. The irony is almost laughable.

When they say Florida is “openly hostile” to blacks, they probably just mean that Florida, unlike many leftist-run states, won’t allow blacks to run amuck and commit crimes without actually having to pay for those crimes and without experiencing accountability like jail sentences, prosecutions, etc. Oh, the horror!

But hey, thanks for the great and free advice, NAACP.

As a Floridian all I can say to the NAACP is "Thanks and keep up the good work!"

Perhaps DeSantis could assist by setting up checks at the border on the major highways that enter the state (I95, I10). Police could look for non-resident blacks and give them a friendly warning (after a full cavity search).

By forcing the national association to make this announcement - if that is what he has done - DeSantis has solved a Florida problem.

Of course, that means the problem will likely surface elsewhere.

Still, DeSantis has shown other states how to prevent problems proactively.

Wonder how much Gov Desantis had to pay for this?

This could, evponentially, increase tourism!

Worth tens of billions!

Whatever the price, he got a deal.

When the infamous “Equal Rights Amendment” was voted down by many states, the bigots of the feminist movement organized boycotts to take convention money and travel money away from the good states.

The black bigots are trying that. The same as the early approach to the first Civil War. Some of us do not find demands for reparations amusing in the slightest. Same with people pulled out of cars and beaten in carjackings, bound and murdered in home invasions, slashed coming home on foot from a convenience store or killed at an ATM machine.

Not amusing.

That history would be changed by “expunging criminal records urged.” This is already taking place in Michigan and elsewere.

Please boycott Missouri. We don’t want these anti-American jerks anywhere near us. I judge behavior, not skin color.
