The problem is actually that there have been no negotiations. Instead, Biden is using the Chinese method of authoritarianism of ruling by decree and without compromising with anyone. That's the failure.
The failure is that the “two party system” is working against voters getting what they want, and has been since 1945, more or less.
You pick your party like you pick a sports franchise. Each party is tasked to offer one thing you want, and one thing you hate.
Your choice is to figure out if you hate the hateful (R) thing more, or the hateful (D) thing more. This fixes your “identity”, so much so that whether “we” win or “they” win, nothing ever changes.
If people could vote FOR both things they want, and AGAINST both things they don’t want, our 51-49 or 49-51 elections would disappear - which is why change is impossible under the present system.
