I view it as indoctrination because the people doing the drag shows (and those pushing it from government and upper ranks) are not doing it to provide entertainment.

They are doing it to promote homosexuality as a tool to deconstruct the military in general and society in particular. And it was wholly sanctioned in that light by the Captain of the ship.

They are using it as a lever to enact social change.

Did you support open homosexuality when you served? I sure didn’t. I didn’t care as long as I didn’t have to see it, and they weren’t slurping on each other aboard ship. I figured that was their sexual peccadillo and their business, not mine.

You don’t see a difference between actors on a screen like Danny Thomas and Bing Crosby in “White Christmas”, some guy with coconuts for boobs (as my dad once did at the O-Club at the O-Club in Subic) or a guy wearing a dress and a head full of snakes for an equator crossing, as opposed to someone in command making a deliberate decision to bring someone on board a ship for a show BECAUSE he is a transvestite, and because it looks good in his record when he goes up for promotion with the woke SOB’s who are in charge now, after at least a decade of purges on those who believe the military is for warfighting, not social experimentation or transformation?

I don’t know what you were like in college or the Navy, so I cannot say what difference there might be between you back then and officers and sailors today, or your son and his college roommates.

But I do know one thing: Back then, if you expressed support for this kind of BS, your career would be over. Today, if you express any opposition to this BS, your career is over, and militantly so.

No, and I don't support it know, nor do I support women in combat roles or on combat ships, or units.

My question has more to do with who the audience of these shows are. I have a hard time believing that the sailor who just found the love of his life in a bar in Subic Bay is going to have his mind changed by a drag show on the boat. I know that opposition to these things can get people in trouble. I've told my son that several times after memes that he has texted me.

My impression from him though is that 90+% just roll their eyes at this kind of stuff, so I don't quite know who the audience is.

As I said before, I'm not against what Tuberville is doing, I just want to here the rest of the story.
