Seattle

Hubby and I moved to Seattle after we were married, 42 years ago. It was a beautiful city, and very safe. I remember us walking around Seattle at night and not feeling at all unsafe. It was lovely. When our first daughter was born, we would take her to a Children's Festival that was held at a Center in the city. It would have children's musicians (we saw Fred Penner once). I believe the early 1980's was the pinnacle of children's music.

The festival stopped a long time ago, probably because people stopped having children. They are shutting down numerous elementary schools in the Seattle area because there is not enough children in the areas to support having their own school.

What has been done to Seattle is a sin really. But, decades of one party rule (Democrat), has ruined this city, along with many others in this country.

We now live in a suburb of Seattle, but we rarely go into Seattle. Before he retired, hubby would commute to and from Seattle and at the end of his employment he was having to be careful where he stepped to avoid the human feces on the sidewalks. Just before he retired, his company opened a "satellite" office in our suburban town. So, the last portion of his employment there was a much easier commute and a much more pleasant environment.
