Taiwan, while an ally of the US in some respects, is not even recognized by the US as an independent, sovereign state. On what basis would the US defend the independence of Taiwan against China?
Taiwan is much more friendly to economic freedom than the US. Perhaps Taiwan should defend the US from China’s takeover of the US and its major political parties.
Taiwan trades with countries in the transnational corporatist progressive monolith, but what choice do they have? That’s where the money is. They aren’t part of the monolith themselves. If they were, they’d have full recognition by the US and its allies.
The Taiwan-China conflict is a conflict between post-Marxian socialism and authentic political & economic freedom, unlike what’s happening with Ukraine.
