“Move the entire operation to California and do Trans Day every day there!”
I have read that Iger said they were canceling the new $1Billion development in Orlando because the California staff didn’t want to move to Florida. However, the mediots describe the reason for the cancellation as the DeSantis/Disney “spat”.
Personally, as someone that lives in FL, I’m happy that Disney won’t have more Californians moving here....
Were most of the their guests rich foreigners from China, Japan and Saudi Arabia, people after the “American” experience? Or maybe the unmarried wealthy of Silicon Valley type places.
What?
Sulu just stared at her shoes, but Chekov checked out her butt.
Star Wars not Star Trek.....................
This post provides a good breakdown of likely business goals and motivations connected to that project.
I have to remember just because I don’t have $2. Million Dollars to take the family on a “ quick weekend of Sci-Fi fun, doesn’t mean many others don’t have it. Good for them, if they have achieved that kind of wealth.
People with lots of money that are Star Wars fans.
Once that segment had been depleted, nothing was left................
You think I don't know Sci Fi???
😜🤦♀️🤷♂️🤦♂️🤷♀️.......................
Disney killed Star Wars so what else would you expect
“If extraterrestrials are your thing”
They were most certainly Cpt Kirk’s thing!
Only drug dealers, crooked lawyers, and members of the Biden Crime Family can afford to stay there.
Of course, now there is hotel space in Florida to house illegals. DeSantis would not have to bus them all the way to New York, just drop them at the Disney World gay-te with directions to the hotel.
I wonder if shareholders will hold Iger to account for the incredible flop and $$ loss.
Heh: I needed that (laugh). /s
Do you remember “Ramar of The Jungle” in the mid-50s?

“Sky King”?
Formulaic, as was “Indiana Jones”.
Spielberg said in an interview, that he wanted to re-create that era and aura of TV show, in a movie series.
The move, which Iger attributes to “changing business conditions” in an internal memo, is likely a result of Disney’s feud with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
The failure is without doubt the result of Disney's having intercoursed up the Star Wars franchise, with years of leftist stooges' various boycotts of Florida into the mix.
When is Disney going to pony up and start recalling all of their Caucasian “Little Mermaid” dolls? There are a hell of a lot of sad little Caucasian girls out there who are heartbroken because the Little Mermaid is now black like Alexander Hamilton and Cleopatra. Disney is a bunch of bullies.
Yes, I remember both!
Didn’t much care for Sky King because even as a child I saw that each weeks show was the same as the last weeks show, only with different people and settings.
Like “Lassie” with an airplane................
I saw the first Star Wars movie in 1977, at age 22, and remember thinking at the time that I sure would have liked to see it when I was 12. I saw the next two movies when they came out, and then gave up on the franchise. Still kind of like the Family Guys parodies.
iger will never be able to prove that, so the premise is not valid. In fact, DeSantis’ attorneys are in a better position to argue that disney’s (self-inflicted) woke damage has driven its customers away.
The ‘space taj mahal’ had to have been a money-losing operation for some time, unrelated to DeSantis.
Same here, as I was 22 as well.
Saw the first one, after all the hype, and never saw another one, and still haven’t.......................
The other day I saw a guy at the airport proudly sporting his Taylor Swift concert T-Shirt.
He must have shredded his man card then burned the strips.
