Buy a Toyota now and keep it maintained. Buy a totaled rear-ended one in same model to cannibalize for parts should the factory replacements become banned. (If the demoncraps win 2024 they will absolutely do this)
IIRC there was a fed law passed some years ago requiring parts to be stocked for x-years after production ceased. I use it to my advantage. They have to keep parts in stock and they are dirt cheap to clear inventory for newer vehicles.

They’re gearing up on gas stoves. On deck: air conditioners. The budget the emanates from the House must contain language preventing use of money to pat for these efforts, or else the bureaucracy is going to just keep and going
I’ve been a German car guy for a long time. I am looking at Toyota on this next go around for exactly this reason.
