“Pay big money for a ticket? “

I took my son to a San Francisco Giants ball game a month ago.
$300 for a pair of decent seats close to the field on the third baseline.
$36 for ON-STREET parking. The “smart meters” jack rates up during special events. The nearby parking lots were $40-$50.
$75 for lunch at a decent restaurant.
$18 for one soft drink and a bottle of water. No beer, no food.
$25 for gasoline for driving to and from San Francisco.

$454 for ONE BASEBALL GAME!

That’s why I go to one game every ten years or so. It is utterly obscene. I live in the past and was expecting maybe a $250 day.

We used to really enjoy seeing the San Jose Giants farm club. Nice old-school venue, cheap tickets, good baseball, reasonably priced food, and closer to home. I wonder what their prices are now.

MLB and the players union are trying to kill off the “farm system” - minor leagues.
