Conservative voters don’t win or lose elections. Independents do, and independents don’t want to hear about 2020 when they can barely feed their families.
DeSantis is being smart here. Trump can and probably will win the nomination, but pretty much every independent in this country has a fully-cemented position on Trump. DeSantis is still largely unknown by independents, so it does DeSantis no harm and some good to stay out of the 2020 debate.

It’s just common sense. Because it hurts rather than benefits their polling. Who else is being asked this question daily? The media wants to get conservatives on record saying 2020 was not legit because they will use that opinion to paint them in a corner. And let’s face it, no politician wants to be painted into a corner over something from 4 years ago.

And I recognized it in "real time," too. We spent endless time posting on COVID-related threads back in the spring of 2020, and I said so at the time.
Honest, hardworking American citizens having their businesses shut down by some @sshole in government who never misses a paycheck is about as repulsive as anything I've seen in my life here in the U.S.

To be frank, I can’t believe there is support here on free republic for a man who still supports the vaccine 2 years AFTER we found out they do not work.
