There’s another way to look at it.
Maybe the earlier trial taught Durham the impossibility of getting a conviction with a DC jury. This is his way around it. He has thrown the ball into Trump’s court. Let Trump now sue for civil rights violations and whatever his lawyers can put together. If Trump’s lawyers can set the venue (keep it out of DC!) than I think my speculation has more than just an air of possibility.
