It provides hard evidence that the establishment was lying the entire time they went after Trump.

Regarding your other point about politics being about distortions.... I can’t argue because we are engineered to hold opinions (i.e. - Trump is a liar) by those who seek power but don’t hold your breath that Americans will suddenly wake up to corruption.
Lying only works in a universe without God.
