The border is still a disaster. A federal judge or two has handcuffed the executive branch from doing mass releases of illegals, and that likely is a big reason the number of encounters are lower.
But to say they’re lower is NOT the same as saying they’re good. They’re not good.
What the administration is doing is they have prevailed on Mexico to let controlled releases into the country with the intent of taking in all 700,000 on our side. Since the judge stayed allowing the administration to just let them in on parole alleging overcrowding at processing centers, the scheme is that as folks are processed out all over the country, Mexico sends a steady stream of migrants to replace them until the 700,000 are on the US side. As usual Biden and Myorkas and the media are misrepresenting what is really occurring
