I never had a BB gun as a kid (probably a good thing) but to compensate, I got quite proficient with a slingshot. My dad never did figure out where all his 1/4” hex nuts went ;-) And speaking of that, if it became necessary to use it in self-defense, I figure a nutshot would be easier to make than an eyeshot...and have similar effectiveness.

It can be a useful skill to become proficient in given that it is relatively a silent attack and the “victim” will be unable to tell from where the sudden pain came. So it has the ability to not only bring pain but also surprise and confuse the person on the receiving end of the rock or hex nut.
I know where you got the ¼" hex nuts, where did you get the eyes?
Indeed. Even if you don't hit the ten ring on THAT target, it will give your assailant some incentive to get the hell out of range.
