With Florida governor Ron DeSantis expected to launch his presidential campaign in the coming weeks, there has been much speculation regarding whether or not he will be able to draw support away from the Republican frontrunner, Donald Trump, and emerge as a fresh new alternative for the party.
Members of DeSantis' team have argued that, despite continously trailing the former president in the polls, the governor's base of support will expand as soon as he officially declares that he's running.
According to Politico, DeSantis' team is confident that their guy has what it takes to become the nominee, with gubernatorial campaign manager Generra Peck suggesting that "everyone knows the majority of the Republican Party wants to move on."
DeSantis' spokesperson David Abrams highlighted the fact that Trump took to attacking the governor personally and professionally long before any talk of a presidential run was openly discussed. He suggested that the former president "knows that his greatest threat is Ron DeSantis."
Of course, DeSantis made all the moves of a man seeking to become president save for actually announcing.

DeSantis "has clearly made the calculation he needs to be a good alternative for Trump diehard voters out there."

“with gubernatorial campaign manager Generra Peck suggesting that “everyone knows the majority of the Republican Party wants to move on.””
well, if/when ron ACTUALLY announces, we’ll see if the “majority of the Republican Party REALLY wants to move on.” ...
it’ll be interesting to see what Generra Peck and Co. say when we and they find out that the majority of rank and file GOP voters do NOT want to “move on”, but instead want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
me thinks that when this coven of RINO political advisers speak of “the majority of the Republican Party”, they’re really referring to the only Republican Party members that they’re truly aware of, namely themselves and their buddies who inhabit their tiny hermetically sealed RINO bubble ...
“everyone knows the majority of the Republican Party wants to move on.”
Make America Great Again is such a rude, crude, meme.
Yes, we want to move on from Biden with Trump.
Seriously, can’t these highly paid idiots come up with something more original than “move on.”
Sure.....

who?
Both he and Kari have no problem with the LGBXXXX crowd.

I support DeSantis (at the moment, I have no "bromance" with any candidate).
And, Trump infuriates me that he simply just cannot act with tact or diplomacy or in most ways presidential.
That said, if Trump wins the nom, I'll support him and vote (early, of course), and try to convince my fellow Trump-fatigued GOPers and Indies to do the same.
I understand the disappointment if our fav candidate does not win the nom, but would we toss our fine country into the wood chipper just to make a spiteful and indignant point (that helps the Dems)?
If the Dems win in 24, what might we expect thereafter?
Wrong!!!
LOL. No way José. Not if he is the only one running. Tired of holding my nose.
People want to avoid that nightmare and the person who created it .
They think we’ll vote for Florida Man without 45’s endorsement.
The sun must be especially hot in FL these days.
Roll MAGA, roll!
WHEN DeSantis puts his entire life and businesses on the line for this nation I will consider voting for him!! WE ALL OWE Trump he has been through the fires of hell to open our eyes of the corruption of our government!! NO ONE on God’s green earth deserves our vote more than Trump!!!
I like a lot of what DeSantis does in Florida, but he appears to be hanging out with a bad crowd from DC.
