EU’s top diplomat says he knows how to ‘immediately’ stop conflict in Ukraine – Reuters ^ | 5/10/23 | Eleon

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine can end in just a few days, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell told Spanish TV channel La Sexta on Wednesday, saying everything hinged on military supplies Westerners in Kiev.

“I know how to end the war immediately”, Borrell told La Sexta’s El Intermedio show. “Stop providing military aid to Ukraine and Ukraine (will have to) surrender in a few days. That’s it, the war is over. insisted the head of European diplomacy.

Borrell acknowledged that this would not be the outcome desired by the EU and other Western countries. The bloc’s foreign policy chief claimed that an immediate end to the conflict under such conditions would see Ukraine “busy” And “turned into a puppet country” It is “deprived of his liberties”.

“Is this how we want the war to end?” he asked rhetorically. Borrell then blamed the continued hostilities on Moscow, saying Russia had repeatedly insisted it would not stop until all the goals of its military campaign were achieved. He also criticized China’s and Brazil’s peace efforts, saying they are detached from reality.

“Anyone who says they want peace should then say… ‘I want Russia out of Ukraine’. The Brussels foreign policy chief asserted, adding that he had little understanding of anyone who thought otherwise. “Those who say, ‘I want peace and the best way to achieve that is for the Europeans to stop helping Ukraine’… frankly, I don’t know what world they live in,” he said.

kyiv quickly reacted to Borrell’s words, accusing him of having the “false emphasis” in his speech. Withdrawal of Western military aid “certainly could not end the conflict immediately”, President Vladimir Zelensky’s aide Mikhail Podoliak said on Twitter. This would only lead to further escalation as hostilities would spill over into “other territories” he said, without further details.

Borrell’s words came less than a day after UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres also expressed skepticism about Brazilian and Chinese peace efforts. Any mediation effort would be in vain for the time being since the two parties to the conflict are still “fully involved” in fighting, he told El Pais in Spain on Tuesday.

The Kremlin said in late April that it supported international efforts to find a peaceful solution to the conflict, but maintained that its goals in the campaign must be met.

Russian President Vladimir Putin cited the need to protect the people of Donbass, as well as Kyiv’s failure to implement the 2014-2015 Minsk peace accords, as reasons for launching the Russian operation against forces Ukrainians in February 2022. He also said that Russia was seeking to “demilitarization” And “denazification” from Ukraine.

Moscow has also accused Kyiv of making all potential talks senseless as Ukraine demands Russia return all territories that joined it following referendums, including the most recent, in the fall of 2022.

Never mind that Ukraine doesn't resemble a free country with opposition parties and media banned, opposition leaders being imprisoned, with churches being destroyed and with independent American journalists being imprisoned.

A puppet state? Ukraine already is that. It's a NATO puppet state, one that has enriched our corrupt political class, and has been since we fomented an all coup there in 2014.

Of course this is exactly what you and other Russian tools around yearn to see happen. Yet another escaped Soviet slave state hunted down and returned to the plantation.

Sounds like the EU is slowly coming around to end this Ukraine nonsense. Good.

It is not an end to the war. It just moves the front lines to the borders of Poland and other former Soviet bloc countries Putin wants subservient to Russia.

Ukraine surrenders, then the Russian reprisals begin. Better to die in combat than to surrender to eventually be murdered, and your women violated, your children enslaved.

Russian losses will be avenged.

Stop providing military aid to Ukraine and Ukraine (will have to) surrender in a few days.

Yep, but that wouldn't take America down along with Ukraine.

Your narrative is a LIE.

The majority in Ukraine voted for Zelensky to being peace, not a NATO war, to Ukraine.

The ethnic Russian population, after the illegal coup we fomented, were persecuted and killed. Why wouldn't they fight for their freedom and oppose the Ukrainian nationalists we installed?

Ukraine as it present stands, it's a country worth saving. It is totalitarian state on, at least, a level with China. Opposition parties and news outlets have been banned. Churchs are being destroyed. Independent, American journalists are being imprisoned.

And, vast majority of conservatives and a majority of Americans are sick and tired of seeing tax money wasted on this war so the Bidens, Soros and the defense industry can make more $$$ there.

Russian couldn’t care less about what happens in what’s left of Ukraine so long as it isn’t a NATO puppet that threats their national security.

Kazan is the name of a minor rural town in Russia.

Is that where you live?

Which is exactly why they will let their occupying troops run wild with reprisals...they don't care!

“ You are a Putin Stooge”.

Seeing you posted that to numerous other members, I do hope you realize there are many of us, and many more that are finally making sense of this western clown show.

You war cheerleaders may have had a better chance if you had a better leader: a senile, corrupted old man is not someone to rally around.

Carry on, your road is leading to unnecessary destruction.
