The head of Russia's Wagner mercenary group said on Thursday that his forces' flanks were under pressure near the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, resulting in the loss of ground that his men had captured at heavy cost.
Yevgeny Prigozhin has argued that it is the job of regular Russian forces to protect Wagner's flanks near Bakhmut, the city at the centre of the longest and bloodiest battle of the war.
"The situation on the flanks is developing according to the worst predicted scenario," Prigozhin said in an audio message.
"All the territories that were taken with the blood and lives of our comrades over many months, advancing tens or hundreds of metres a day, are now being thrown away practically without a fight by those who should be holding our flanks."

In an earlier message on Thursday Prigozhin said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy was "being deceptive" when he said Ukraine's anticipated counteroffensive had been delayed because it was waiting for more aid from foreign countries.
He said the counteroffensive was actually going ahead at full speed around Bakhmut and that Ukrainian operations were proving to be "unfortunately, partially successful".

And this is the situation in Bakhmut, where they definitely should have expected a counteroffensive and been prepared to repulse it. Imagine what happens when Ukraine starts attacking in other areas where the Russians do not expect it.
Prigo started whining about his exposed flanks more than 6 weeks ago.

“Kyiv’s counteroffensive has begun. Tanks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine go along the Kharkov bypass towards the border with Russia... Belgorod, Artemovsk (Bakhmut) or Swatove ?”

Prigozhin pretends the Russians are fleeing and weak, but they are not.
Zelensky pretends he's mounting a mighty counter attack that will change the course of the war, but he isn't.
Is the flagship cruiser Moskva “pretending” to patrol the bottom of the Black Sea?
People generally associate victory with the taking of and control of land. In war the victory is also achieved by destruction of the opposition army.......clearly Russia is winning and will continue to win.....There will become a point the Ukraine will collapse.
Primadonnagozhin is at it again.
Ukraine is working hard to put a brave, heroic face on a bad situation. While the battle over Bakhmut continues to dominate the attention of Western pundits and politicians, the war in Ukraine is raging in other locations, including Zaporozhye, Maryinka, Avdyevka, Petrovskoye and dozens of other cities and hamlets. Russia has ample supplies of men, tanks and ammunition. Ukraine does not. Russia is choosing to fight a war of attrition rather than large scale maneuver. I realize this is frustrating for those arm-chair generals longing for a General Patton to break out of hedge row country and go scampering across France. Apart from the whining complaints from Prigozhin, there is no sign of panic, fear or frustration on the Russian side. The essential question remains — how long can Ukraine hold out?
Ukraine SitRep: Delayed Counteroffensive, Russian Defense Lines, Weapon Efficiency
Ukraine does not have the personnel to sustain a longer war. Nor does the 'west' have any spare weapons that could give the Ukraine a 'decisive advantage'.

Too funny!
Russia is winning slowly by slowly by even slowlier!
Two excellent Telegram sites that anyone can view, with up to the minute news from many sources about the Ukraine/Russia war. Many photos and short videos, some only viewable by Telegram members, most by anyone.
A fantastic 30 minute Rumble video, well worth the time to watch. Col MacGegro (check his bio online, he knows what he is talking about it). Puts the war into perspective, with details, and the general geo-political scene re: USA, Russia, and Ukraine. BTW he says that Ukraine has lost 300,000 men so far.
