Not sure how you can keep on crying "propaganda" when it's Yevgeny Prigozhin himself yelling on his Telegram channel that Muscovite troops in Bakhmut have fled and that Wagner has been flanked.
Propaganda on both sides. I think Prigozhin’s proclamations have been often off kitler - I think he’s spreading fake news as Sun Tzu’s strategy to make it seem like the Russians are retreating, to lure forth the Ukrainians in ‘pursuit’ that doesn’t work out like they thought it would.
Russia or the Ukraine can retreat and attack to save soldiers. WHen the Russians regroup or retreat - it’s misinterpreted as a ‘good sign’ for the Ukrainians, when in fact the Ukrainians are simply outgunned in terms of ammo, missiles and trained troops.
Zelensky said a long time ago, “Frankly we can’t win without state of the art aircraft, and he’s been given older models, too few of them, and doesn’t have the same experienced pilots that Putin has.
The head of the Ukrainian military already explained in an interview in The Economist that he knows what he needs to win, and he knows that NATO doesn’t have it to give him. And he gave examples, saying they’ve given all they can.
Analysts discuss Russia’s capacity to produce ammo - it’s well above that of NATO and NATO can’t ramp up ‘fast enough’.
Tank people analyze the tank gifts Zelensky gets, and notes they are defenseless without adequate air cover.
Russia has the more devastating missiles. The Ukraine really is outgunned so retreating, regrouping, redeploying mean nothing to the outcome of the war. Waving a flag in ‘victory’ over these actions, many of which never even occur in real life, doesn’t mean the direction of the war has changed.
A few days ago I watched a panel discussion and the analysts were chuckling that the Ukrainians were claiming they had the Russians boxed in when in fact the Russians had boxed in the Ukrainians on 3 sides. How many times have the Ukrainians bragged they made Russians retreat (aka ‘they are running’) when they just regroup and attack again?
