More than three years after COVID-19 first sowed death and disruption, state and federal pandemic-related emergencies are officially ending Thursday.
The end of the emergency declarations will bring a slew of changes to state and federal requirements and programs related to COVID-19. The changes come now that hospitals are no longer overflowing with COVID-19 patients and daily deaths across the country have dropped.
“The reason it’s no longer considered an emergency is we now have vaccines, we have treatments, we have adequate testing capabilities,” said Dr. John Segreti, hospital epidemiologist at Rush University Medical Center. “It’s no longer the same situation we were in in March of 2020, but that does not mean that COVID is gone.”

But I still do see some folks wearing their masks, and I expect they still will not stop. And of course "covid is never gone".
So TPTB have established a precedent, and no war crimes trials.
That was a loooooooooong two weeks.
Safe and effective.
We have the untested, ineffective vaccine with the life ending side effects.
It took 3 “reporters” to tell us something that was obvious once the 2020 election was done.
A few weeks ago, we tested positive for Covid, it was like a really bad head cold.
I’m glad to report that two days ago, we tested negative. It’s going to be around for a while, but at least it’s not a huge crisis anymore, and we weathered it w/out any serious issues.
I got covid right after Easter....I was back at about 75% 4 days later. For me it felt like the flu.
About the time I got to feeling better my wife got sick. She didn’t fare as well as I did and I contribute that to my exercise regimen.
Since covid hit we had been very aware of where we were, who we were around and kept up our personal hygiene practices like hand sanitizer and washing our hands frequently.....unfortunately we dropped our guard and bam......we had gone to a memorial service at a church four days before I got sick and we’re almost positive that’s where I caught it.
If we’d have been vigilant I doubt we’d have caught it.
Having said all that, even after getting covid we will continue to refuse to get a little tested experimental shot.
We would have reached natural herd imminity a long time ago if they had just left us alone.
So glad I left the land of corruption, high taxes and ridiculous mandates (aka Illinois) in 2021.
It’s different for everybody.
My wife had a fever for at least 8 days, as high as 101.8. Also, one day her blood pressure dropped out to 88/60......I was very close to taking her to the ER at that point but it stabilized a few hours later.
Don’t tell me, let me guess.....your in Florida now right?
I never checked my temp, but it never felt like I had a fever.
Back in early 2020, I believe we had it then, we had fevers and respiratory problems, there was no testing available at the time.
Not bad enough to be hospitalized.
The vaccine, which was a leaky vaccine, I believe, extended covid by creating new variants much faster.
Here’s an article stating leaky vaccines speed up the spread...all done to keep us in fear and more lockdowns:
I wish... northern Indiana.
Some people will wear masks the rest of their lives.
