Tonga island chain extends about 500 miles This quake was 40 miles NW of roughly northern end of chain. Hunga Tonga's excitement last year was roughly 40 miles N of southern end of chain.

The science of how the earth’s core generates heat, how and the rate it is released is not established, much less understood. But it has more to do with arctic and Antarctic ice thickness and climate change than any other factor by far. Not even close… Go outside and see if you can locate a very bright object in the sky…
