I’m not sure this would be a good strategy for the Republicans but something to think about.

The Democrats talking about the country defaulting on its debts and that it’s never happened before.

The Republicans should consider passing a 2nd bill, not right now but when things get down to the wire.

The USA still has about 5 trillion dollars a year in tax receipts coming in, that is plenty to pay all the interest on our national debt.

Pass a bill to fund pay the interest on the national debt, pay medicare, social security, medicare, and the military, anything left over, Biden can designate how to spend and DO NOT raise the debt limit.

The country won’t default because the interest on the national debt gets paid, social security and medicare get funded, poor people keep their health care and everything else is up to the Democrats to prioritize.

I believe it's already in the hopper ... I've heard them talk about it ... but I believe the House is out for the rest of the month, starting next week ... but we should see that as the next step
