Many of the people arriving here from Central America are indigenous and still speak ancient Mayan languages. It's a growing problem in schools where translators are required and there just aren't any who speak these tribal languages.

The assumption that everyone from Mexico and Central America speaks Spanish is incorrect. Many do not and often, these are the illiterate, unskilled hordes who are being encouraged by their home countries to come here.

I always maintained that illegal immigration was a safety valve for Mexico/SA to unload those people who were likely to cause political trouble if they stayed.

Nowadays it seems like the people most likely to cause trouble are thos who merely want to eat.
