While watching TV with my daughter, I told her the real Zombie Apocalypse will be the mentally ill, hungry and feral people coming out of the large urban centers looking for food or something to steal. They will hit the suburbs first then move out into the heartland. If you do not think it is possible look at the massive crowds of illegal aliens rushing our southern borders. After I saw the large homeless caravan parked along a highway out side LA I think it could happen in my lifetime. However, I believe our country is large enough that most areas, where States protect their citizens, will remain relatively safe places to live.
