Austin Goss moved to South Dakota in June 2020 in order to continue his career in journalism, heading up the Capital Bureau in Pierre. Austin covers mostly state politics, and other occurrences throughout central South Dakota.
Originally from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Austin enlisted into the Army after graduating from high school in 2015. Austin is now a member of the South Dakota National Guard. He graduated with a degree in Political Science from Indiana University in 2019.
Austin brings extensive experience to the capital city because of his previous work in political journalism in Austin, Texas. Despite his relatively short time thus far in the Rushmore State, Austin has a deep appreciation for the state’s natural beauty, and its friendly residents.
Austin is a Christian, a reader, a runner, and a tried and true Indiana Hoosiers fan.
