“I’ve learned my lesson.
Never, ever call the cops. Someone tries to break into your house and you defend yourself, bury the body, wash off the porch, and turn out the lights.”
Known in the south as the “Shoot, Shovel, and Shut-up” policy of personal self-defense. A back-hoe or pen of hungry hogs helps. Some assembly (or disassembly) required.
You heard correctly. Abbott has limited pardon power and will act as soon as the board of pardons acts.
Actually he can only pardon if the pardon and parole board rules he can be pardoned. He did ask for expedited review of this case but I doubt he has twisted any arms.
I thought “fair trail” meant the defense being able to present any possibly exculpatory or mitigating evidence. Guess that doesn’t apply when the case is so politically loaded.
You are correct. Texas governor cannot pardon unless recommended by that committee.
It pains me that this POS judge shares a name with the great jazz trumpeter, Clifford Brown.
Thanks for that confirmation.
Thanks for letting me know.
This is why no conservative Texan in their right minds spend any time (or money) in Austin.
Very true.
There once was a saying, “No matter how bad the situation is, involving the Police makes it worse.”
Believe it or not, the Police are not your friends.
As long as I have been on here, it has been Free Republic Dogma that the Police are on our side.
