LEXINGTON, Ky. — Personal attacks and havoc stole the show Monday night, as five leading Republican candidates for Kentucky governor faced off for a live, televised 90-minute debate hosted by KET in Lexington.
The candidates, Daniel Cameron, Kelly Craft, Ryan Quarles, Eric Deters and Alan Keck, had their feet held to the fire by moderator Renee Shaw — and each other — in one of the final debates before the May 16 primary.
The two front-runners according to recent polling — Craft, the former ambassador to Canada and the United Nations, and Cameron, Kentucky’s attorney general — in particular traded barbs with one another on support from law enforcement, alleged ethics violations and more.
There’s just two weeks until the primary, when GOP voters across Kentucky decide who among a dozen candidates is their best bet to defeat the presumptive Democratic nominee and incumbent governor, Andy Beshear. Despite Kentucky’s increasingly Republican leanings, Beshear is likely to be a formidable opponent, as recent surveys have shown he is consistently one of the most popular governors in America.

That’s right carve each other up. One of the 5 is a suspended attorney-far right. What’s he doing there? Seems like the ‘moderator’ is doing his best to weaken the party.
Daniel Cameron spoke at the 2020 RNC convention… he’s got my vote!
Cameron is a Turtle McConnell shill. The current gov is Beshear, he was Atty General and filed monthly and sometimes weekly lawsuits against Gov Bevins. Bevins was an outstanding gov the the Commonwealth. Beshear is your typical Dem hack n Wuhan whore. Cameron is ...
Don’t know who I’m voting for yet, but McConnell and the KY GOPe are willing to let Beshear win if they can’t push Cameron over the goal line.
I missed this debate, wish I would have seen it.
I’ll post again this link to a KY conservative discussing the candidates and their backgrounds. He doesn’t endorse, but gives me some idea who they all are:

Red state/rat governor. No excuses as to why. Something else is working-deck is stacked. No way the powers that be will let a black conservative win a governors race as it is a stepping stone to the WH. Tim Scott avoids that trap and wants to go straight there-fat chance. He’ll drop out of politics, succeeded by Nancy Mace, another squish.
Cameron should patiently wait to succeed the turtle or hope for a SCOTUS opening. Besher will win with GOP help and his resume will be enhanced running a red state-southern governor. They have no one else.
I cannot vote in the primary since I got massively pissed at the GOPe and became an independent in 2021, but I hope Cameron wins especially since Quarles outed himself as pro-pothead.
Daniel Cameron was endorsed by Trump straight out of the gate.
The previous governor was Matt Bevin, not “Bevins.”
