At least 34 people injured during strikes on eastern city of Pavlohrad
Russian shelling has struck warehouses that are believed to be storing ammunition in the eastern Ukrainian city of Pavlohrad in an apparent attempt to slow an expected Ukrainian counter-offensive.
The pre-dawn shelling, in the Dnipropetrovsk oblast, injured at least 34 people including three children and damaged dozens of buildings, according to regional administration officials.
In a separate attack in the Kherson region in southern Ukraine, one person was killed and three others wounded.
Pavlohrad was struck twice during the night, Mykola Lukashuk, head of the Dnipro council, said. Footage on social media showed secondary detonations at the warehouses where the ammunition is believed to be being stored, at a railway depot.

One article after another on this either doesn’t know or leans in favor of an ammunition depot being hit.
This may be the nail before the final nail in the coffin as things have gotten steadily worse for Ukraine since the NYT report 5 months ago where it was admitted 20/30 NATO members were "tapped out" in helping Ukraine. Then Zelensy very recently told a Japanese newspaper that the Ukrainian army in the East was fundamentally out of ammo, which was bolstered by a WaPo article around that time.
More or more European nations now refuse to send any more arms to Ukraine, Italy and Pakistan apparently sent them junk ammo and artillery, and now this.
Plus the recently leaked gov't documents did not paint a favorable situation for Ukraine either.

Ukrainian outlets report that dozens of cruise missiles have been fired from 17 Russian strategic bombers.
4/5 Sounds like Russia targeted air defense systems sitting on rail cars being moved to the field, likely NATO supplied

Train station seems like it was the target. Reports of Russia striking a shipment of AD assets does seem to fit the recent developments of Russia focusing heavily on degrading Ukrainian air defenses.

The blast in #Pavlohrad was so large that it broke doors off their hinges almost 5 KM away. Ammunition is still cooking off.

Might probably have been the chemical plant where the Ukraine was repurposing fuel form old ICBMs for use in Grod-2 short range ballistic missiles.

I wonder just how large the Pavlograd blast was.
30 solid fuel icbms. Each weighing about one hundred tons. Figure (wild guess) half of that is fuel, factor in that probably only about one fourth detonated in the largest blast (maybe similar similar to Pepcon where most of the material was flung around undetonated) gives say....375 tons of fuel going up in the main blast?
These are all wild guesses. Hopefully knowledgeable FReepers will weigh in on all the variables.
This blast rocked homes a very long ways off from reports.
A very long ways.
Fire up the presses boys, Z is going to need a BUNCH more cash after this!!!
Amateurs talk about weapons and tactics.
Real soldiers talk about logistics.
It looks like the russkies have military people that are as smart as some of everyone else’s.
Really not sporting to blow up the other fellow’s ammo, is it? I wonder what would be said about this by the Marquis d’Queensberry or the homo DoD attorneys that have to approve every shot a trooper wants to take?

That ain’t no chemical plant.
That ain’t no chemical plant.
Ah, UMCNeoconMom
No, it’s 30 Soviet era ICBMs being stored at the chemical plant.
How much solid rocket fuel went up in the largest blast do you figure?
I’m thinking about one third of a kiloton. Maybe more.
I have no idea since I’ve never been there and was not privy to that info back in the day because RT-23 Molodets ICBMs were much later - they were solid fueled.
