Steve Bridges had just parked his pickup truck at the Texas Boot Factory when he saw a man — White, maybe 55 or 60 — step out of the car beside him and slip a gun under his belt.
It was a Friday afternoon, three days after two cheerleaders opened the wrong car door in a supermarket parking lot nearby and were shot. Bridges, a 63-year-old contractor, had tried to picture how that could happen in Elgin, Tex., where eruptions of violence are rare.
“It all goes back to the fear,” he said. “Why are cheerleaders getting shot for opening the wrong door? Why is a grown man scared to go into a boot store without carrying his weapon? Why are these people so afraid?”
Across the country this month, at least four men have opened fire on someone who’d stumbled upon their space, resulting in one death, two injuries and a car pocked with bullet holes. The apparent acts of snap-aggression have reinvigorated the debate around the prevalence of “stand your ground” laws in the United States and a pressing question: Why are people so quick to pull the trigger on strangers?

It is called preparedness. I go strapped where ever I go, including Church.
Deep State is playing divide and conquer.
And, as of right now, Deep State is winning.
It comes down to training and preparedness.
Train, train, train. Build muscle memory.
Practice good situational awareness.
Why are cheerleaders getting shot for opening the wrong door?
There may be more to this story than just that. What were the circumstances that led to opening the door? Was the car surrounded by people?
The shooter may have felt threatened….
Let’s not rush to judgement. Remember that everyone is innocent unless proven guilty.
Not scared; prepared.
Some of America’s leading lefty radicals, appearing before Congress recently, could not or would not even define out loud in words the definition of a woman.
Now other Liberals, propose their theory on WHY people shoot each other.
If you can’t define what a woman is, you should be in a straight jacket in a mental institution not lecturing the rest of us on WHY people shoot other people.
After getting robbed and shot, back 7.14.1975, I always CCW.
To say nothing of all the illegals coming across our boarders with bad intentions including the Chicoms putting boots on the ground in our Country.
Why are Americans shooting strangers
May want to ask the D.C. cop that murdered an unarmed woman about that.
Except it isn't msn. This article is from the Washington Post.
Each person should lock the doors immediately after getting into their own vehicle. Maybe a person without an ability to quickly judge the general intentions of a stranger in the moment shouldn’t carry at all. Awareness is most important for self-defense. Self-defense is also an undertaking of knowledge of odds and changes. No one is invincible. There are always vulnerabilities (example, moments of distraction).
You make some good points. Let’s see what comes out at trial. Until then, as Americans, we have to presume innocence.
Yes.
That may be where we disagree. A rational fear of bodily harm is all that is necessary for assault. Self defense against assault is a valid reason for pulling a trigger.
Maybe. Maybe not. With “rational” mentioned, we’re a little closer. With “reason to believe” “severe bodily harm,” we’d be closer yet.
Another reason that I responded is that some real thugs have said that they felt threatened. All kinds of people read these threads, including those who’ve been through criminal college (prison).
I’ve been in more than a few situations with crooks. It seems that more today than before, more of them are very slippery and do rehearse their actions and stories for followups to their attempts at crimes. Many of the newer, younger ones get their strategic information from social media before they even have a record. That’s why many of the police are so skeptical now.
These are good for training the mind in my opinion. Not every video is perfectly free of errors, but in sum, they’re pretty good.

I was not writing most of those comments directly to you, but rather, for other readers. You already know most or all of what I wrote. :)
That includes the black kid who dindu nuffin for real, but gets shot in "self defense". Shoot the RIGHT ONES by their BEHAVIOR, not because they look like the right ones. .
