Anthony, you’re spot on. This is no different than when Obama needed the final vote to get Obamacare passed. Senator Mary Landrieu from Louisiana was that final vote. She all the sudden received over $300 million dollars, she voted, and then she retired after it passed.
And where did the 300 million come from?!
“Senator Mary Landrieu from Louisiana was that final vote. She all the sudden received over $300 million dollars, she voted, and then she retired after it passed.”
When the bill to repeal Obamacare came up in the Senate a few years later the GOP had the majority in the Senate and could have killed O’care. Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and John McCain voted against repeal and the bill lost by one vote. McCain had promised in his reelection campaign the year before to repeal O’care but publicly dissing Donald Trump was more important to McCain than his promise to the people of Arizona or the long term implications for the US healthcare system.
Thanks to McCain, Murkowski, and Collins Big Pharma controls the broadcast media and is more profitable than ever, most physicians have left private practice to be employees of big hospital corporations practicing one size fits all assembly line medicine, and big insurance companies specify the healthcare individuals will receive. The promised $2400 per year reduction in medical care costs for the average family never materialized. Wait times for appointments are now extremely lengthy. Many Americans see nurse practitioners and physician assistants, not MD’s for routing care due to a shortage of MD’s.
