imho this is a particularly infantile writing style. the nyt audience apparently consists of semi-illiterate, immature idiots.
The only thing it is good for is burning in a campfire!
I think many Journalists get three terms all braided into one form:
Blogs: collections of entries discussing the same topic, the way Hobby Magazines used to be,
Journals: aka Diary entries from one writer. Sometimes done more with photos not words.
and News Articles for general consumption
There is a distaste for true Christians also.
Anything connected to good..Godly..they cant stand.
They live in the darkness where they can be as gritty as possible and no one cares. Turn the light on and they get nasty.
