Rep. Pat Fallon to Newsmax: Trump 'Fabulous' in 'Thwarting Putin'

There has been only one president this century who has kept Russia's Vladimir Putin from invading former Soviet Union states, and that is undoubtedly former President Donald Trump, Rep. Pat Fallon, R-Texas, told Newsmax.

"He projected strength, and that's exactly what President Trump told me," Fallon told Saturday's "The Count," slipping briefly into Trump's voice to tell his story. "He said, you know, 'Vladimir, I don't want to come in and have to have to knock off your iron dome in Moscow.'

"And he said to me, 'Pat, he believed me like 5%.'

"But he kept him in check. You know, that's the truth."

What is not the truth is "anything that comes out of Putin's Kremlin," according to Fallon, who praised Trump's ability to keep Putin's aggression at bay during his administration.

"Let's look at what Putin has done over the last 15 years: In 2008, he stole two provinces from Georgia under George W. Bush. In 2014, Crimea under [Barack] Obama, and then, of course in full-scale invasion under [Joe] Biden.

"But for four years he didn't act aggressive at all toward his neighbors, and that was during the Trump years."

Trump had vowed economic war if Putin were to cross Trump's red line.

"He said he made it very clear to Putin that he wouldn't stand for it, and then he would wage economic war and, you know, unleash the American energy sector, so therefore Putin couldn't fund his war," Fallon continued.

"So President Trump did a fabulous job in handling and thwarting Putin."

Support for Ukraine is a hotly debated topic, but Fallon told host John Tabacco that America cannot do nothing.

"but Fallon told host John Tabacco that America cannot do nothing."

Oh, yes we can. It's none of our damn business getting involved in a foreign civil war.

Time to finish the job President Reagan started. Putin’s Russia is the dead cat bounce of the Soviet Union.

Trump was good. I voted for him twice. But please stop taking trying to take credit for every event in our world that turned out good.

Reagan also gets credit for sending the USSR into the abyss, too. But there is clearly more to both of the stories (Reagan and Trump).

While both presidents worked hard and smart to protect our interests, there were certainly other circumstances that came together in both instances that led to a favorable solution.

Another neocon. Trump’s direct orders were ignored in Syria. And Trump tried to simply have a good relationship with Putin and Russia. And when he met him once in person, the entire US Government and the media utterly flipped out like dung flinging monkeys. Then Ukraine and their spies in the White House and NSC and CIA facilitated his impeachment. Trump was no big fan of corrupt Ukraine and when he tried to untangle DC from it... he was impeached.

Now this assclown tried to turn this into Trump was looking to beat down Putin. Guess that is what passes for neocon deep thinking these days.

He was thinking that he had the Vindman gold dust twins and other spies and advocates in the CIA and State Department, and the impeachment was coming soon.

Every single solitary “Republican” who supports the U.S. sending so much as one soldier, one gun or one dime to the corrupt and degenerate Soros/Schwarz globalist child sex-trafficking state and their puppet pervert Zelensky needs to be run out of office on a rail.

Well, sadly, except for that blanket amnesty for illegals Reagan supporters pretend never happened.

I'll stand proudly behind my undisputed tag line for Trump to include Reagan's Presidency.

Because Trump set the kind of tough tone needed and wasn’t interested in the kind of provocations Biden and Zelensky staged to egg Russia into attacking.

The attack leading to untold death and destruction Ukraine keeping its military casualties secret.

Me too. I'll stand behind both.

My point was that the "spin" in both instances leans toward exaggeration. The narrative in the original article has a slant that Trump kept Putin at bay because of threats/strength. In reality, Putin was never the evil attacker until he was provoked beyond reason. Maybe not for himself but to protect his country. After all, Russia has a long, long history of invasions from others.

Projecting strength probably played some part, but Trump established a dialog, and I think the two men respected one another. It's hard to do battle with someone you like and respect, and that seems true for both men.

By the way, the same is probably true of Reagan and Gorbachev.
