During WWI some French troops revolted. The situation that the mobilized Russians find themselves in is probably much worse than what the French faced. People tend to view wars in simplistic terms. But nothing could be farther from the truth. There are as many forces in effect as there are people in the conflict and people supporting or supplying those people. Things happen and they cause other things and NOTHING that has happened so far has gone according to anyone’s plan. Could Russia win? Possibly. I think it’s more likely that they’ll end up with so many things going on behind the lines, like people protesting, allied states seceding, and people generally just stealing stuff that an outright victory would look really weird and might not last for long. Could Ukraine win? With enough support they could be the clear winner. But the West has been timid for too long. Fighter jets, for example, needed to be planned on starting the second month of the war. Every delay means Russia may eventually wear down Ukraine’s air defense and then freely roam the country destroying everything.

See link for interesting background on how badly things can go on the firing line.

Most respectfully, what you wrote was silly ignorance.
Here it is:

“During WWI some French troops revolted. The situation that the mobilized Russians find themselves in is probably much worse than what the French faced.”

A comparison of the number of soldiers killed says that the French were more than 100 times worse off than the Russians are now.

By 1917, when the French Mutiny occured, France had almost 3/4 million war dead, with a population of 40 million. That’s 1 in every 50 people

By contrast, Radio Free Europe* said two weeks ago that Russia has had 20,000 fatalities. That’s with a population of 140 million. That’s one in every 7000 people.

To put it another way, in the last year the US had the same number of homicides, two times the number of traffic deaths, and 5 times the number of drug overdoses as the Russians have lost in Ukraine.
