Bush was out of tune with American sentiment.

Sure, the media overhyped the recession with endless pieces on food lines and hundreds applying for dozens of job openings. The Bush family legacy, and the Republican brand, isn’t helped by rhyming with Middle East wars and recessions. W was perhaps the better of the two but his administration was a disappointment particularly in the second term.

Perot wasn’t serious about winning once he dropped out during summer before getting back in. He was more America First than globalist particularly in trade.

Trump can’t win in 2024. He’s made himself unelectable which is disappointing because I don’t see a strong ideological successor competing for the nomination in 2024. It’s definitely NOT DeSantis.

The Republican Party has destroyed the brand. The Bush’s and the disaster that has been: McCain, Romney, Ryan, Boner, and especially McConnell. If Trump wasn’t the nominee in 2016 the GOP would have lost that election to the hag and lost it badly.

Conservatives know the GOP leadership is lying and with each election more and more of them have decided to stop holding their noses and vote for the trash that is the Republican party. The average Trump voter loathes the Republican Party as it is constituted and knows it holds them in contempt.

Trump as you say may not win in 2024(I think he won’t because of the massive and unopposed fraud the Democrats are increasingly orchestrating—with tacit Republican approval), but right now I don’t see a Republican in sight that will pull anywhere close to the number of votes Trump did in two elections because no one trusts the Republican Party to do anything it promises, the GOP is a bunch of damned liars and if you’re honest you know it’s true and people are tired of their BS that they have perpetuated since 1989.
