IOWs, the difference between one brand and the other is marketing, and marketing of light beers was always intended to take the stigma out of it being a “light” beer.


The only brewery that’s ever come close to erasing that stigma was Amstel, IMO. For a while they ran an ad touting that Amstel Light had won some competition. Citing that winning wasn’t unusual for them, they continued “What WAS unusual is that it wasn’t a light beer competition.”

Brilliant.

That’s interesting. With the American lights it was always the marketing and never about the beer.

Heineken NON Alcoholic beer is great, esp on ice.
