THE ANTI-GOD SUBTEXT TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE
Sonar 21 ^ | 21 April 23 | Larry Johnson

Posted on 04/22/2023 11:49:36 AM PDT by delta7

I was born in 1955, nine years after the start of the Cold War between the Soviet Union and the West. One of the constant refrains from that era was the claim that the Soviets represented “godless” communism. The false belief continues to frame how most Americans view modern Russia — i.e., it is a godless country. But that is a lie. The Russia of Vladimir Putin is a Christian nation, but respects and embraces its Muslim citizens.

I believe that one of the unstated reasons the West hates Russia is because the majority of the Russian people strongly embrace Eastern Orthodox theology. Unlike the Roman Catholic Church, which is squishy on the issue of the LBGTQ agenda and tarnished by a legion of pedophile Priests, the Eastern Orthodox Christians insist that God created man and woman and that homosexuality is a sin.

And the Eastern Orthodox Church is under an unrelenting attack by the regime of Vladimir Zelensky. For example, the head of the Eastern Orthodox Church in Ukraine, Metropolitan Pavlo, was arrested and confined to his residence for two months by a Ukrainian court after Ukraine’s top security agency SBU raided the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monastery in March.

The Ukrainian military also is taking part in the effort to intimidate the Eastern Othodox Church:

On Easter night, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired 20 rockets from MLRS at Donetsk, according to the DPR representation to the JCCC. There was smoke in the area of the Donetsk Cathedral, where a liturgy was taking place, local authorities told TASS. One person was killed and two others were wounded as a result of the shelling of the area of the cathedral in central Donetsk, the DPR authorities added.

Then there is video of the Bishop of Ivano-Frankivsk and Kolomyia Nikita being attacked on the street at night. (For some reason, YouTube decided this is age-restricted.)

Next up, two elderly women trying to attend a church service in Kiev are surrounded by a mob chanting, “Suitcase, station, Russia!” I guess this is the Ukrainian version of , “Love it or Leave it.” This is just one more example of the Ukrainian Government’s effort to seize Orthodox churches throughout Ukraine.

The effort to seize Orthodox churches is not confined to Kiev:

Subscribers from the region report that the Nazis from the “right sector” (67 brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine) are occupying churches and temples in the north of Kharkov.

Among the churches occupied by militants are the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (the village of Cherkasskiye Tishki) and the Nicholas Church (the village of Russkaya Lozovaya). The following video shows another mob trying to prevent parishioners from entering the Cathedral in Kamianets Podilskyi:

An attempt to capture the cathedral is currently taking place in Kamianets-Podilskyi.

This is reported by the tg-channel of the UOC (Ukraine Orthodox church)

“According to eyewitnesses from the scene, the police do not respond to calls. Believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, who are defending their temple, are trying to hand over subpoenas. Divine service is performed inside the temple, believers also pray in front of the cathedral.

Since yesterday, opponents of the UOC have been calling on local Facebook pages to come to the cathedral for an assault. At the same time, they spread false information about the Church,” the message says. Here we have opponents to the Orthodox Church harassing a Priest trying to enter a Cathedral. He is physically assaulted and his hat is snatched from his head.

The West largely remains mute to these pervasive, evil attacks on the Orthodox faithful. It is demonic in the full sense of the word and many of those doing these attacks embrace the Nazi ideology and paganism. here are two beauties. The salute is not accidental.

This is not the first time in history that Eastern Orthodox Christians have been attacked. The question I have is why the political leaders in America and Europe are staying silent in the face of this widespread persecution?

I believe that one of the unstated reasons the West hates Russia is because [...]

"Objection, Your Honor! Counsel assuming facts not in evidence!"

I (and others here in the West) don't "hate" Russia.

We merely observe that Russia - under Putin - has returned to its imperialistic roots. Like the erstwhile Soviet Union, Russia, too, is now rattling its nuclear saber, threatening the world if it doesn't get its way.

It must not be rewarded for invading its peaceful neighbor and annexing vast swathes of territory.

Regards,

With fewer specifics, related concerns also mentioned by Putin in his initial public statement.

Let’s see how well the thread stays on topic.

Those who are supporting Ukraine do not "hate" Russia. We just want them to go home and live in peace within its own borders. Also, the author is being dishonest with his reverences to the "Eastern Orthodox Church." The action taken by Ukraine, while in many cases regrettable, are not against the Eastern Orthodox Church but against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, i.e. against the Russian Orthodox Church. There have been no actions against the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The author is falsely trying to frame what has happened as an religious attack against Orthodoxy, rather than a political action against a Russian controlled church.

That is total BS

What we're talking about here is an ongoing nato scheme to put nato weapons right up on Russia's borders and split Russia up into little principalities that can be taken over one by one the same way all of the other vassal states of nato were taken over and absorbed, using ukraine/hohostan as a proxy.

Democrats worshiped Russian Communism Propaganda. Eventually, Commie China took over as the main totalitarian dictator economic power. The old Soviet Union taught the American Dems to be sexual perverts. The new Russian mafia Eastern Orthodox powers are not in accord with Dem American atheist values. Nowadays, American Dems are paid traitors for Chinese Commie plans. Russia is no longer useful for Dem plans. Just use Russia as an excuse for anything that goes wrong. Plus, Russia never was any good anyway.

Before the great schism, Russia was Roman Catholic, and today near zero.

The Soviets were atheists; religion is the ‘opiate of the masses’.

Putin is a Soviet to the core and uses the Russian Orthodox Church to drug the proles.

Bishop Krill knows who butters his bread and does as he is told.

Now Putin needs the support of the many muslins in the Russian Federation, so he is building a mosque in Moscow.
The locals have protested but are told that is unacceptable.
You too can be cannon fodder.

You’d be hard pressed to find one officially sanctioned elementary school trans twerking event in Russia. In the West, particularly in the US, all public schools require, at the very least, acceptance of homo/trans orthodoxy. The majority of US grade schoolers have been targeted by school or Department of Education operatives for conversion efforts to these perversions. Of course, we see federal law enforcement persecution of any parent who might object. This is a large component of the woke green pervo globalist crusade. This is more important to those in DC running the Uke quagmire than any feigned concerned for Crimea or the four oblasts being battled for. They want to destroy Russia because they refuse to promote these Godless perversions.

"Those who are supporting Ukraine do not "hate" Russia. We just want them to go home and live in peace within its own borders."

Russians ARE living within their own borders. Those borders have simply expanded somewhat due to their being forced to take posession of nazi territories. The good news is that the nazi pseudo-state of "ukraine" will shortly be gone and the nato fops and wankers will have no similar alternate proxy with which to try to foist their wretched schemes upon the world.

Russians are not Christian people, Russia is not a Christian nation.

Russia’s state church is what the Communists are trying to duplicate in China, replace the Christians and their churches with a phony ceremonial state ‘Christian’ church, that will absorb any religious impulses from the people and check the boxes, without actually contaminating them with true, heartfelt and life-changing faith in Christ.

Before the great schism, Russia was Roman Catholic

I think it would be more accurate to say it was Byzantine, beholden to the church in Constantinopole and only tenuously connected through that to the church in Rome.

I wish I had much more time to get into the issue of this post more deeply, but I can only say that my beef is not with Orthodoxy--I would choose it over Catholicism in a New York minute based on its willingness to remain true to Christian doctrine and practice--but with the statist tendencies of the Russian Orthodox Church in general, and Kirill in particular, particularly the willingness to crush the UOC and the Ukrainian Catholic Church in the name of Putin winning his war.

FDR was duped into being Stalin’s monkey boy. Stalin wanted to take aver all of Eastern Europe. Stalin demanded that D-Day would happen in Western Europe instead of Greece. Patton knew that Greece would be better. The USA would do D-Day from Greece and prevent Russian from taking over Eastern Europe. FDR was Stalin’s butt boy. FDR gave Eastern Europe to evil Stalin. Never trust a Democrat. Dems pledge allegiance to Satan in the form of Communism. China now has the most money to bribe the American Dems.

There are 5-6 countries that rate higher than Russia, which are outside Africa.

Why is that?

Baby it’s cold up there in Siberia!

Russia invades another country, annexes its territory, its supporters desire its total liquidation, and you call the Ukrainians Nazis? Look in the mirror! For the Russians, a “Nazi” is any Ukrainian who wishes to be independent from Russia. In the meantime, it is the Russian who have invaded and sought to subjugate another country, all in the name of ethnic superiority. These are the real Nazis.

Who said anything about Christian purity? I didn’t. I said they do not promote the homo/trans orthodoxy. I also said that in the US the homo/trans orthodoxy was accepted and promoted by many school districts and in particular by the Department of Education. If you deny either of those points that I actually stated, I’d be happy to defend, with facts, those two assertions. I really don’t care to play around with your riddles though.

I’m beginning to understand now. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church was only formed in January of 2019.
