Rush said more than once he didn’t want to replay 1992 when he lost a big percentage of his audience that supported Perot. 2015-2016 was not Rush’s best moments.
He was afraid if he supported Cruz , like he should have, Trump would attack him and drive off audience. He more or less said this several times. He also said Trump was making a mistake by his mud slinging. I paraphrase.
Cruz could not have beaten Hillary.

That is because Trump is a narcissist. Trump thinks he is the greatest everything. Zero humility.
His age is showing, but he has always been like this. He’s always been an arrogant jerk who just didn’t have a political pulpit to really go off from.

That’s BS. Rush didn’t pick anyone in the primaries. He got behind Trump after he won the nomination. And Trump had a lot more to fear from Rush than the other way around.
