Democrats advance seven Biden judicial nominees with GOP support in Feinstein’s absence

WASHINGTON — Senate Democrats advanced seven of President Joe Biden's judicial nominees through committee on Thursday with Republican votes, shelving others that lack bipartisan backing with Sen. Dianne Feinstein absent.

The move by Senate Judiciary Chair Dick Durbin, D-Ill., marks a change in course after he had repeatedly delayed meetings since early March to advance a package of judges, lacking the decisive vote of Feinstein, D-Calif., who is out indefinitely on medical leave.

“We wish our colleague, Sen. Feinstein, a speedy recovery and return,” Durbin said. “We hope she’ll be back in the Senate very soon. Today’s agenda includes a number of judicial nominees who have been sitting on the agenda for some time. Some have bipartisan support. There’s nothing to prevent us from calling and voting on these nominees today.”

I enjoy seeing Sen. Kennedy and Sen. Cruz make mincemeat of the ideolog-knucklehead-leftists Brandon judiciary candidates, but alas, to no avail. No way to block the stupidity. Elections matter, and corrupt elections lead to a contaminated, putrid, and dysfunctional judicial branch.

So which Republicans voted for them and what is the background on each of the Democrat judges, if known?

The GOP backstabbers are led by Linda.

“The panel voted to advance Mónica Ramírez Almadani and Wesley Hsu to be district court judges in California; Jeffrey Irvine Cummings and LaShonda Hunt to be district court judges in Illinois; Michael Farbiarz and Robert Kirsch to be district court judges in New Jersey; and Orelia Eleta Merchant to be a district court judge in New York.”
“Democrats unanimously voted for all of them. They received varying degrees of Republican support, most notably from Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, the ranking member.”

Sen. Kennedy is all in on the judge from Louisiana

He explained his vote in committee

As he often says...”I’ll have to take their word on that “

:::::They received varying degrees of Republican support, most notably from Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, the ranking member.:::::

Linda Graham is a fool and is the prototype for the uni-party roll-over-and-surrender GOPe Republicans. He feels that elections matter, but the Executive should get whatever he wants, but that is not reflected by the left when there is a Republican President.

He forgets that NO ONE on the left feels the same way. Case in point, we witnessed the absolute character assassination of MANY Republican judicial candidates by the activist leftists on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Is Linda naive? No! Just a stupid and reliable doormat for the left.

People here, for sure, forget that in 2018, Paul Ryan did not pursue one incumbent to reconsider, retirement and to run again.

As a result we had dozens of open seats, and Pelosi got in.

OTOH, Trump worked is a$$ off, and campaigned hard and we picked up a seat in the Senate.

That allowed us to control the sitting of judges.

This was huge.

IF for now other reason, we owe it to Trump to support him. All of us.

Keep track of the RINOs.
We will need that list following American Bastille Day.

I suspect every Rino who was happy to jump in and assist the dems in these appointments is also on the “compromised” list and knew they had to go along. Of course the head of them, Linda Graham, the most compromised of all.

Re: "Dems never vote for Republican Presidential nominees"

I wish that were true.

22% of Trumps Circuit (Appeals) Court nominees got at least 20 Democrat votes.

63% of Trumps District Court nominees got at least 20 Democrat votes or a Voice Vote.

Advice and consent does not mean the President has to pick someone you would have chosen. Obviously the nominee is going to reflect the President’s party judicial philosophy. Elections do have consequences. The parties should do more of getting along on these things when judges are in “mainstream”
Problem is democrats nominate a bunch of wake jobs! And R’a just go along. I watched one where a court nominee didnt know what Brady material was. That is a first year law school case. It’s like saying you never heard of Miranda. Brady comes up
In every single criminal trial. Even if the nominee had no background in criminal law and slept through that law school class you would at least think he would prepare for his hearing. We are in deep trouble as a country

The Democrats have not made one judicial mistake since Kennedy nominated Justice Byron White in 1962.

And White was center-left on most cases.

As of today, almost 100% of Democrat federal judges vote exactly like the Democratic Party would vote.

Republican federal judges?

On any given day, we are lucky if only 35% of our nominees vote AGAINST the Republican Party.

Like choosing between Trotskyites, Bolsheviks, and Mensheviks...

More proof that:
The only good communist is a dead communist...
It is our duty as citizens to help everyone be as good as possible...

If we are unwilling to do our duty, maybe we should not complain...
