But don’t get me wrong. This foolishness is just a response to Putin’s invasion. Putin overreacted. And now NATO is overreacting. This is exactly how World War I started.

Yes. Interlocking treaties and alliances that dragged everyone in. Millions died horribly. It has been sixty years since “The Guns of August” was written, but even people who would speak out against this appear to be ignorant of it.

This is on the same level as the USSR putting missiles in Cuba - extremely provocative. The Soviet Union viewed their Cuban missiles as a reasonable response to our Turkish missiles.
