Unless there are details that have yet come to light, the homeowner should be in big trouble. Interesting, though how the writer emphasizes the fact that the homeowner is WHITE three times.
As others have noted, lots of black kids have been shot over the weekend, but because they were shot by other blacks, it is not really news and not really important.
Sixteen-year-old drivers have lots of ‘strings’ attached to their licenses—how many passengers they can have in the car, etc. Don’t what restrictions Ralph Yarl license may have had.
And I wonder why the parent(s) would send their son to fetch the twins rather than doing it themselves since he clearly didn’t know where they were.

The alleged shooter’s identity should be established before his skin color is discussed.
For all we know it’s a white Hispanic female.
How come Ben Crump hasn’t responded to Afroman’s plea for help. Afroman was raided by the sheriff to steal his lemon poundcake, and $400. They broke his gate and door too.

It reminded me, of all things, of the death of Anton Webern, who somehow survived living in Nazi Germany without ever getting in trouble with der Fuhrer, only to be killed while sitting outside smoking by an American occupation solder, Raymond Bell. Complicated story, but IIRC Bell committed suicide soon after out of guilt for killing an innocent musician.
Checked out your link and saw a march with a man holding a sign reading “Ralph Yarl life matters”. Shooter sounds paranoid. Still, is nauseating how all the protesting is only for white shooters, law enforcement or laymen, while the black-on-black weekend muderfests draw no marches, protests or much attention.
Afroman also wrote some awesome songs and made hilarious music videos from the incident.
Obviously we need to understand this better. You should never be shot for ringing a door bell. When you have a door bell you are allowing people to ring it. There are numerous possibilities here that can go either way to explain why the boy was in the right or the shooter was in the right. We will just have to wait and see.
I think you can expect to see more of these type shootings out of fear, not hate.
I was in the barber shop last week and an old guy whose hair was being cut said he was even afraid to go out at night.

Shooting someone through the glass, and making a head shot, is quite a feat.
I don’t think a jury will find that he acted reasonably, unless there’s more to the story.

Music for the human ear, and violence between humans, seem like so much polar opposites. Such a shock to see them mentioned in the same story.
The prosecutor says they cannot make a final decision about a criminal charge until the victim makes a formal statement.
So, where did all the information about the shooting come from?
Hopefully, the home owner had the clarity of mind to say absolutely nothing to the Police.
Hopefully the kid lives. The homeowner looks like he could be looking at an attempted murder rap. He can’t just shoot somebody for ringing the doorbell
Of course, the first version of the Trayvon story that came out sounded very damning too, so we'll have to wait and see.
