That is one of the silliest statements ever. You obviously didn’t bother actually checking the facts before making this statement.
Nixon: 1968, 31.7 million votes; 1972, 41.7 million votes.
Reagan:1980, 49.3 million votes;1984, 54.4 million votes.
Clinton: 1992, 44.2 million votes; 1996, 47.3 million votes.
Give me a little time and I can probably find other incumbent presidents that got more votes than their first election and still lost.
I think what he meant to say was that Trump is the only President to get more votes than his previous election - and “lose”. If you know of any others, let me know.
