If I see blinding light pointed at my door . . . it ain’t no B&E or mugger . . . it be PO PO . . . LEAVE THE GUN OUT OF SIGHT !
Democrats like it when everyone is on edge.
Hair-trigger cops meet frightened homeowners armed for criminal invaders.
We need more laws!
A while back, Arizona experienced a spate of home invasions by cartel members disguised as police. Helmets. Armor. Jackets emblazoned with POLICE.
What would happen if folks in the poor man’s situation simply stayed inside and called the police to clarify what was going on outside their front door? I know folks aren’t generally clear-headed in moments like that. But how could it hurt?
Fire and prosecute every one.
Civil damages come out of the police pension fund, not the taxpayer's pocket.
I’m sure that will be a great consolation the their murdered victim and family. Cops will get a slap on the wrist taxpayers will foot the civil suit bill.
It has hapoened before.
I remember in the early ‘70s the cops in DC were busting into a house of a known weapons dealer. So they got the wrong house busted in that just so happens the owner at the wrong house was cleaning an antique firearm when they came in they saw a gun and killed him mistakenly, but this is not news it happens probably more frequently than anybody would realize.
good suggestion.
Very doubtful. They’re probably facing prison time. They knew they were the wrong address, and therefore should’ve known the homeowner would’ve probably thought it was a home invasion. Certainly the homeowner would’ve had no idea why they were there. They offered zero first aid, and did not call an ambulance. In New Mexico, yes, they will be prosecuted. And no it doesn’t fix things, but that mother and her children will at least be provided for in the civil suit.
bttt
“It’s midnight, you’re suddenly awaken, somebody is banging on your door, and you hear noises”
I’ve had the police knock on my door at 1:00 am while I was sleeping upstairs. I woke up, came downstairs and looked through the peephole. I saw it was the police and I asked what they wanted. They said they had a noise complaint. I laughed and told them the only noise I heard was them. They said it was from 5 hours ago and wasn’t a priority, and they wished me a good night and left without shooting me. Of course, I didn’t fling the door open and point a gun at them, so there’s that...
I don’t doubt they’ll be prosecuted, but for what? Cops murdered old lady in Atlanta 15 years ago and were prosecuted for “violation of oath of office”. Spent some jail time, but nothing like they would have gotten for murder or even manslaughter.
Similar to the Tuttles case in Houston.
That sure as hell ain’t what I saw, door opened normally, gun pointed at the sky!
How about the dumbass cops try LOOKING AT THE ADDRESS!
Or if they are that chickenshit, try standing off at some reasonable distance; they wear body armor and they could have had cover.
Plus the guy was blinded by their lights.
The speed that they BLASTED AWAY tells me they had their weapons drawn and aimed before that guy was even awake!
NBC says the cops tried to kill the man’s wife firing a dozen rounds at her and missing. Seems she was screaming without their permission.
Not a bad idea, but are we supposed to do ALL THE THINKING for the police now?
If the police are not civilians then they are occupiers.
I see, so are you suggesting the homeowner in THIS CASE knew they were police, but decided to open the door with gun in hand anyway?
Btw, if you don’t mind, following the question at #77, I’ll have some follow up questions for you. ☺
Same folks will come for your guns gung ho
Don’t doubt me
Especially in urban areas
Btw Joe, I have a question about what happened to you.
You say the cops came to your house at 1:00 a.m. and banged on your door regarding a non-priority call they received at 8:00 p.m. (5 hour earlier) noise complaint on you? And you all had a good laugh and wished everyone good night?
