As Army in combat arms, I couldn’t tell the difference between what got a fellow soldier into the Army, they were all the same as far as I saw or trained.

Unless you checked their dog tags I don’t even know how you would know which soldier or Marine you met had been drafted.

Young guys are not set in their ways and they get into the military and find themselves, the paratroops, Rangers, and Green Berets got their share of volunteers who had originally been drafted.

We agree to disagree.
The draft was bad, in my opinion.
Agreed everybody adapts and conforms,
some become lifers.
Military life is not a bad one.

But I’d prefer some one that started out
wanting to be there
when dealing with short
enlistments.
My inital enlistment was for 6 years.
Most USA draftees are for 2?
Russians are for 1.
Hard to get people, really up to speed that fast.
