Safety razors are easy to learn how to use and much cheaper if you buy the blades in a lot of a hundred (15 cents versus a dollar). You will Knick yourself at first, but the learning curve is pretty shallow. There are youtube videos if interested.

OBTW, I learned how to use a straight razor by watching youtube videos. That was a steep learning curve.

Straight razors really freak me out. I couldn’t even trust an experienced barber, although they must be good or others wouldn’t trust them, much less myself.

I probably had a bad safety razor, or one with a dull blade, when I gave that a go.
