My point is that they are attached to the Embassy, issued dip passports, and then work with the host government at sites outside the Embassy premises, which are just a home base. These special forces troops are integrated with the Ukrainian forces acting as liaison with them.

We know that the US is providing real time intelligence to the Ukrainians to target Russian forces using our satellite imagery and signal info. Our Special Forces are operating and maintaining equipment to provide the Intel. I would also posit that US contractors, many former military, are in-country to provide technical assistance. The 50 NATO/US Special Forces contingent is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to foreign assistance on the ground. I doubt any are in direct combat roles yet.

You are naive if you believe the US presence is just training Ukrainians. My experience as a foreign service officer for 28 years and 8 years as a naval officer inform my opinions. My concern is that the incompetent Biden team will raise the ante on our involvement as it becomes more apparent that the Ukrainians are losing badly. Poland is already threatening to send troops to Ukraine if it appears the Russians are taking over Ukraine.

The problem is that you know nothing, yet you are making up an elaborately detailed story of what they are supposedly doing and where, and trying to pass it off as real.

We have military guys hanging out in nearly every armed conflict we have any interest in, acting in various capacities (observing, advising, and so on), sometimes going in as grey suitcases, also British SAS (and I’ve no doubt SAS is busy in Ukraine).

No one is surprised when we have them in Libya, Yemen, etc., why doubt we have them in Ukraine?

We’ve officially had our troops in Libya, and no one hollered about that:

“A small contingent of American troops has been in Libya in recent years helping local forces combat Islamic State and al-Qaida militants, as well as protecting diplomatic facilities.”

"We know that the US is providing real time intelligence to the Ukrainians to target Russian forces using our satellite imagery and signal info."

Good.

"Our Special Forces are operating and maintaining equipment to provide the Intel."

Doubtful, but the world doesn't need to know who is operating satellite or other communications equipment pertinent to the war in Ukraine.

"You are naive if you believe the US presence is just training Ukrainians."

That "US presence" isn't training Ukrainians on Ukrainian soil. That "US presence" has been here, in Germany and other countries along with instructors in those allied countries.

If even if that was happening, the Russians trained commies in North Korea and Vietnam right in those countries. The only reason I'm against our soldiers training Ukrainian soldiers on their own soil, is that there's no need to risk our soldiers to train them.

"My experience as a foreign service officer for 28 years and 8 years as a naval officer inform my opinions."

A Navy officer and former employee of the State Dept., USAID or whatever. You should know better than to do what you're doing here. Putin is not our friend and has repeatedly threatened to destroy us.

On matters involving foreign enemies, I'm loyal to the United States, whether the president is more like Biden or more like Nixon. Remember Hanoi Jane? Like the members of Code Pink, she would do her dirty deeds during any kind of executive administration.
