The Japanese government Thursday morning issued a warning to residents after North Korea reportedly fired at least one ballistic missile.
As a precautionary measure, the government advised residents in Hokkaido to immediately seek shelter. That order was lifted shortly after the missile landed in nearby waters.
The nation’s J-Alert system was activated and sirens began sounding around 7:55 a.m. local time, just minutes after the launch.

We should give Japan every type of missile interceptor we have, under the agreement that every time Japan tries to shoot down a NK missile we get the telemetry so we can improve our tech.
