This mayor is a freaking idiot. The weapon is exactly where it is supposed to be: in the evidence locker. It will not go “back on the street” until it is released, and that will be a long, long time from now and perhaps never.

If the Mayor is blaming the gun...arrest it, charge it with murder, convict it and send it to prison.

"he bought an AR to make a statement about gun control."

A jerk. And arse hole. You see, an M1 Garrand is a hunting rifle used by sportsmen, but an AR was designed to used by nutcases for mass shootings. </SARCASM>

No problem ... the whiny mayor should purchase it.

Shooter should have taken out the mayor and DA and that would help the city.

Greenturd and his marxist pro-burn-loot-murder predecessor, Fisher, have lobbied the GOP state legislature to rescind the state’s preemption law, which is purposely designed to stop leftist enclaves like Louisville and Lexington from enacting California level gun control in what is otherwise the 6th most pro-2A state in the country.

I bet the RINO’s in Frankfort will finally cave.

Is it already missing from the evidence locker?

In Kentucky guns confiscated in crimes are taken by the state police and once a year auctioned off to a FFL dealer. The money goes to the state police budget (some department's budget at any rate). The FFL dealer then sells to law abiding retail customers WHO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK.

When gun grabber Greenberg ran for mayor he campaigned on the notion that Louisville should permanently sabotage the guns before turning over to the state police as it is required to do. He claims, by inference, that all guns used in crimes are legally acquired by the criminals.

Why are liberal Jews so in favor of government taking guns? I have a Jewish in law that believes no one but the government should own firearms. How could a Jew with a Masters Degree (unfortunately it is in Education) be so educated and at the same time so utterly ignorant of history? Why would any Jew want the government to be the sole owner of firearms????????

Why shouldn’t it be. It worked as designed. The shooter’s Brain was defective.

“Worry about the feral subhumans who commit murder, not the tools they abuse.”

And they can obviously blame the problem with weapons sales as the weak link. But they don’t, they just overlook it.

“Federal authorities sought to take back guns from thousands of people the background check system should have blocked from buying weapons because they had criminal records, mental health issues or other problems that would disqualify them.

It’s the largest number of such retrieval requests in 10 years, according to FBI records – an especially striking statistic after revelations that a breakdown in the background check system allowed a troubled Air Force veteran to buy a rifle later used to kill 26 worshipers at a Texas church last month.

If the background check is not complete within the 72-hour time limit, federal law allows the sale to go forward.’”

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2017/12/04/exclusive-feds-issue-4-000-orders-seize-guns-people-who-failed-background-checks/901017001/

So if we consider the guns that are sold that can get back ground checks have bugs in their system, then I guess legally purchased guns are no different than street corner purchases. And the FBI people are paid to not do their work.

“” will likely be auctioned off and be “back on the streets,”””

.

No big deal BUT if it starts wearing purple and white double-breasted suits, fur coats, platform shoes, big hats with feathers and lots of neck chains, look out.

“The assault rifle that killed five of our neighbors will one day be auctioned off,” the mayor said

By a properly licensed FFL and with a NICS check, so take a deep breath, Mayor - all is well.
