Yes, it is bizarre and weird.
But It was in public, during a speech in front of thousands, while apparantly making some kind of joke. Not some dark deed done in a dark place.
There is some kind of cultural reference there, I believe, but I don’t know what it is.
All in all, given the sum of his life and influence on the world, the fact he is loved by Tibetans and Indians in the hundreds of millions, is hated by the Communist Party of China, and that fact that he has not had a scintilla of scandal around him in his entire life - I will give him a pass on this.

The dali lama has led millions to not see a need forGod who created them. All the good deeds and sayings are filthy rags inthe eyes of God, forthose not believing in Christ.
Is that not a big deal or scandal, just like the millions or more who followed the false religion of covid19?
Lama leads people astray and that ends up with spearation from God for eternity, according to the Word of God.
